Tahsil is an education management system designed for schools, colleges, and universities. It provides an all-in-one platform covering academic management, attendance tracking, online exams, assignments, financial operations, communication tools, and staff management. The platform also supports multi-tenant architecture, making it scalable for institutions of different sizes.
Along with academic and administrative control, Tahsil integrates mobile apps for students, teachers, and parents, offering access to timetables, performance analytics, fees, communication, and announcements. This unified system helps institutions digitize processes and build a connected learning ecosystem

Partnership

WRTeam partnered with Tahsil to build a next-generation education management platform powered by our flagship product eSchool Saas. As a trusted app development company in India, our role was to design and implement an architecture capable of serving multiple institutions under a single system. Our team used Laravel web development for backend operations, Flutter for mobile apps, and integrated payment gateways, messaging systems, and analytics features.

The collaboration involved UI design, admin dashboard development, student and teacher portals, API integration, and a multi-tenant database setup. By combining web development, mobile app development, and strong security practices, we delivered a scalable, performance-focused solution designed for academic institutions at every level.

Key Challenges

1. Multi-Tenant Data Isolation
   Maintaining each school’s data is completely separated while running on the same system was a major architectural challenge.

2. Internationalization & Localization
   In a multi-tenant setup, the platform was limited to three fixed languages, restricting schools from adding custom options. This caused scalability issues for diverse regions and made consistent multilingual support across UI, notifications, and content challenging.

3. Complex Database Management
   With multiple institutions on board, handling migrations, schema updates, and query optimization across school databases was difficult.

4. Authentication & Role Management
   Managing multiple user types (admins, teachers, students, parents, staff) with unique permissions across schools created complexity.

5. Cross-Database User Access
   Users existed in the main system but needed smooth access to school-specific data without duplicating accounts.

6. Real-Time Notifications
   Delivering timely alerts, reminders, and announcements to thousands of users in multiple languages strained performance.

7. Financial & Payment Processing
   Each school required support for different fee structures, installments, and payment methods, making financial management complicated.

8. Teacher Cashback Tracking
   Designing a reliable system to calculate and credit cashback for teachers based on student subscriptions was technically demanding.

9. Large-Scale Data Import
   Onboarding thousands of students, teachers, and exam questions quickly without system downtime was a key challenge.

10. Internationalization & Localization
    The platform is designed with full internationalization support, allowing dynamic addition of multiple languages. Administrators can configure and manage any number of languages with proper translations, notifications, and a multilingual user interface.

    As the number of schools and users grew, delivering fast response times, optimized queries, and system stability became critical.

Our Solutions

1. Dynamic Database Switching Middleware
   Implemented middleware that isolates each school’s data in its own database, with dynamic connection switching based on user context.

2. Sophisticated Migration & Query Optimization
   Separate migration files for main and school databases, indexing, eager loading, and caching provided reliable performance.

3. Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
   Integrated Laravel Spatie permissions for flexible role assignments, with API/web authentication managed via Sanctum.

4. Hybrid Authentication System
   Users authenticate through the main database, with automatic school context switching for smooth cross-database access.

5. Advanced Notification System
   Integrated Firebase Cloud Messaging with queue-based batch delivery, multilingual content, and intelligent scheduling.

6. Comprehensive Fee Management
   Developed a flexible system for compulsory/optional fees, installments, online payments (Click.uz), and automated receipts.

7. Automated Cashback Algorithm
   Created a background job–based system to calculate teacher cashback, credit wallets, and track transactions accurately.

8. Queue-Based Import & Bulk Processing
   Supported CSV/Excel imports with chunked processing, duplicate detection, error handling, and progress tracking for large datasets.

9. Comprehensive i18n System
   Implemented language-specific caching, translation management, dynamic switching, and fallback options for smooth multilingual support.

10. Microservices-Ready, Scalable Architecture
    Adopted Laravel Horizon for background jobs, caching layers, connection pooling, and container-ready deployment for scaling.
