The Client and the Concept

TuningBazar.bg is a niche classified ads marketplace built for Bulgaria's automotive tuning and motorsport community. The platform connects enthusiasts, mechanics, and tuning shops who want to buy, sell, and exchange automotive parts, accessories, performance equipment, and modified vehicles.

The concept addressed a real gap. Bulgaria's automotive tuning community like most regional motorsport communities had no dedicated digital home. Buyers and sellers were scattered across generalist classified platforms where automotive tuning listings competed for visibility with furniture, electronics, and job postings. TuningBazar's positioning was specificity: a focused marketplace built exclusively for people serious about their cars.

The platform needed to serve both web and mobile users from launch. The website would be the central browsing and listing experience. The Flutter mobile apps published on both stores as "TuningBazar.bg Тунинг обяви" would allow users to manage listings, receive notifications, and communicate with sellers directly from their smartphones.

The client, TuningBazar BG EOOD, partnered with WRTeam to transform eClassify, a general classified marketplace source code, into a specialized, localized, fully operational automotive platform.

Why eClassify Was the Right Foundation

WRTeam's eClassify is a complete classified ads marketplace source code covering the full platform stack: a Flutter 3.x mobile app for iOS and Android, a Next.js website, and a Laravel admin panel all included in a single purchase.

For TuningBazar, the feature alignment was strong from the outset. The core functionality that a classified marketplace requires category-based listing management, location-based item fetching, live chat between buyers and sellers, subscription and featured listing management, multiple payment gateway support, Firebase push notifications, and a full admin panel was all present in eClassify before a single line of custom code was written.

The tech stack was also the right fit for the project's long-term requirements. Laravel on the backend provided a solid, scalable foundation for a platform expecting to grow in both listings volume and user base. Flutter delivered a single codebase for both iOS and Android. The Build: What Actually Happened

The project moved through structured phases, each with a clear objective. The first phase transformed eClassify from a general template into TuningBazar's product applying the brand identity, configuring the automotive category structure, and setting up the Bulgarian-language interface across the entire platform.

Full Bulgarian localization was a specific requirement. The platform needed consistent translations, correct date formatting, and localized filter labels throughout the app and website, not a surface-level language swap. This was addressed comprehensively during the customization phase, covering every user-facing string across both the mobile apps and the website.

The automotive category architecture was built out during the same phase. Categories for performance parts, body modifications, audio, tyres and wheels, complete vehicles, tuning accessories, and motorsport equipment gave the platform its niche identity making it feel purpose-built for the community from the moment a user opened the app.

The backend was configured on Apache with MySQL, with Laravel Sanctum handling API authentication for the mobile apps. Firebase Cloud Messaging was set up for push notifications. SMTP was configured for email notifications covering new messages, listing status updates, and subscription confirmations.

The Challenges That Required Custom Development

Regional Payment Integration

TuningBazar required integration with DSK Bank, a Bulgarian payment provider rather than a standard international gateway. eClassify includes support for Stripe, Razorpay, Paystack, and other international options, but a local Bulgarian bank integration required a custom payment workflow built specifically for this project. The mobile apps access this payment flow through a secure web-based interface, keeping the transaction architecture consistent across both platforms.

Image Upload and Performance at Scale

Automotive classified listings are image-heavy. A seller listing a tuned vehicle or a set of performance parts may upload ten to fifteen high-resolution photographs per listing. The platform needed efficient handling of simultaneous multi-image uploads, automatic image resizing and optimization to reduce server load, and fast browsing performance even when listings contained large image sets. A custom photo upload system was built to handle this requirement users can upload multiple images simultaneously and designate a main image after upload.

SEO-Friendly URL Generation for Cyrillic Titles

Bulgarian listing titles written in Cyrillic cannot be used directly as URL slugs. The platform required automatic slug generation that converts Cyrillic characters into search-friendly English URLs ensuring every listing is properly indexable by Google and other search engines without requiring sellers to manually enter Latin-character slugs.

Community and Monetization Features

TuningBazar needed monetization features appropriate for a niche community marketplace: promotional listing packages, featured advertisement placement, and a discount system with promo code support. A community events module was also developed supporting both physical events with QR-code check-in scanning and digital events with voting functionality. Seller ratings and reviews were added to build trust within the community and create accountability for both buyers and sellers.

Currency Migration from BGN to EUR

On 1 January 2026, Bulgaria officially adopted the Euro, replacing the Bulgarian Lev (BGN). TuningBazar's marketplace had accumulated listings priced in BGN across its user base. A simple currency symbol change would have produced incorrect prices. WRTeam developed a custom migration script that automatically converted all existing listing prices from BGN to EUR using the correct conversion rate, applied the changes across the platform during a maintenance window, and communicated the transition to users. Sellers were given the ability to review and manually adjust their converted prices, ensuring a smooth transition without disrupting marketplace activity.

The Platform That Launched

The mobile apps available on the App Store and Google Play include dynamic listing browsing by category, location-based item fetching, multi-image listing creation, live buyer-seller chat, push notifications for messages and listing updates, multiple login options (Google, email, phone), Bulgarian-language interface, bookmark and favorites functionality, and the full featured listing purchase flow.

The website serves as the central platform for browsing listings, publishing advertisements, reading community blog content, and accessing the events module. It is fully SEO-optimized with automatic Cyrillic-to-Latin slug generation, on-page optimization, and technical SEO improvements implemented as part of the project.

The admin panel gives TuningBazar complete operational control: category management, listing approval and moderation, user management, subscription and featured package configuration, promo code management, payment transaction records, event management, and push notification broadcasts.

What the Source Code Foundation Made Possible

The eClassify foundation delivered everything a classified marketplace needs at launch the Flutter mobile apps, the website, the admin panel, the chat system, the listing management, the subscription infrastructure, the notification architecture. That is the infrastructure that would have taken four to six months to build from scratch.
